This type of walking retreat is not really appropriate for children, as it is a time for personal reflection away from the day-to-day responsibilities of life.
On some of the evenings we will meet as a group either to reflect on the activities of the day, or to prepare for future walks. We will also offer evening events like a group guided meditation or a sound healing session, but these will be after consultation with the group. As Pansion Bernarda is in the centre of Varażdinski Toplice and you may wish to take a stroll around the town in the evening, also the town of Varaždin is about 15 minutes away by car.
Appropriate clothing and footwear for dry and wet days, and if you use walking poles, you might want to bring these with you. We suggest that you bring a notebook or journal with you as this is a good way to pull your thoughts together at the end of the day, this will also act as a reminder when you are back home. Apart from this just bring what you will personally need for 7 or 3 days and there are also supermarkets in Varaždinske Toplice which will stock any items that you forget!
Most definitely yes, Pansion Barnarda will be happy to arrange for any dietary needs you may have.
Firstly, it is very important that you bring clothing appropriate to wet weather, secondly we will change/modify the itinerary if the weather is really bad, and thirdly these are spiritual walks in nature, and sometimes nature is just wet!
This obviously depends on where you’re coming from, however Zagreb has regular daily flights from many destinations, and there is also the option of bus or train. We can arrange transport for you from the airport (40 minutes) or the bus or train station in either Zagreb or Varaždin. If you are driving, Varażdinske Toplice is just off the motorway A4, with easy access to Austria, Slovenia or Hungary.
Pansion Bernarda and ourselves will conform with all covid regulations pertaining to Croatia. If you are travelling from another country, it is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with the relevant entry requirements.

Basically, everything except your lunches. This includes bed, breakfast and evening meal, the transportation in the minibus, and our time as your guides.
Walking in the woods and by the rivers is an opportunity to reflect on your life, priorities and future direction. This kind of meditation involves being present in nature; taking the time to listen to the birds, to see the shapes and shadows in the trees and the water; being close to the natural harmony and balance of nature, meditating like this is a way of giving ourselves the space to see what is really important to us.
Yes, we will be walking every day. However, this is not a trekking holiday, and we will be walking at a pace that is appropriate to the location and the group. Please bring walking shoes or boots with you and several pairs of socks!
